Split Peroneus Brevis Tendon-MRI
Splitting of of peroneus brevis tendon is more common than full thickness tear including that of the tears of the long peronius tendon. Axial proton desity fat sat MRI shows splitting (has an inverted 'u' shape) in the peronius brevis and an intact peronial longus. There is fluid along the tendon sheath. The sagittal images are misleading.

Hi,
This is a nice case.
Just a small pint of clarification: Peroneal splits, in its most severe form, includes a full thickness (through and through) tear or longitudinal split of the tendon.
It is true though that there is not a complete tear or transection of the tendon. I agree that transection of the peroneal is less common than peroneal splits.
