Fake contentment
Some people fake contentment to hide their inability to go forward. They use their fake contentment statements to hide their inherent laziness, their resistance to change. Desire for change to adapt better with the nature is inbuilt in our evolution system. Nature desires change. Contentment cannot be used as a defence mechanism for failure. True contentment comes with desire to evolve, to do more with life and lead a fuller life. You may always ask why should I fight more, why should I do more with life? Why is maintaining the status quo not enough?
Answer is in this famous quote, "a boat is safest in its harbour, but that is not what it is supposed to do."
Fight stagnation, live your life, surviving is just not enough.
