Philips initiated commercial launch of Lumify smart device ultrasound solution in the U.S in Nov 2015.Smart device solution designed to make ultrasound more accessible on app-based online portal on Smart phone technology.
Doctors and medical centers in India are often poorly funded and even more poorly equipped. This development will make it cheaper and easier for pregnant women to have basic healthcare and check ups, which could dramatically reduce infant mortality. Role for basic echocardiography and FAST assessment in blunt abdomen trauma is also very important a country like ours. Let's hope PNDT act in India understands.
