Spinal Ganglioglioma-MRI
Follow up case of spinal ganglioglioma, post surgery/post RT
Expansile intramedullary lesion in the cervicodorsal spinal cord extending C7-D3 levels measuring 8.5 x 2 x 1.8cm, showing inhomogenous signal on T1 and T2 weighted images and minimal post gadolinium enhancement. There is evidence of post radiotherapy fatty marrow replacement in the cervicodorsal vertebrae. There is evidence of scoliotic deformity in the cerivcodorsal spine.
Although spinal cord gangliogliomas are uncommon tumors, Features that should alert the radiologist include :
- long tumor segment or holocord involvement
- scoliosis and bony remodeling
- mixed signal on T1-weighted MR images
- prominent tumoral cyst
- patchy enhancement
- extending to the cord surface after contrast administration
- young age of the patient.
