Depressed Fracture: NCCT
- Depressed skull fractures result in the bone of the skull vault being depressed inward into the cerebral parenchyma.
- Mostly occur in the frontoparietal region
- Modality of choice in head trauma is NCCT
- These fractures often involve injury to the brain parenchyma and place patients at significant risk for central nervous system infection, seizures, and death if not identified early and managed appropriately
